All materials will be provided, and no prior crafting experience is needed—just come ready to create, explore, and enjoy the process.

We’ll gather to enjoy a homemade lunch, followed by a cozy tea time for conversation and rest. A special guest will join us during the day, adding an extra element of inspiration and surprise to the retreat experience.

Barnyard Blooms & Handmade Things

Step through the gate and into a weekend touched with a little homestead magic. Barnyard Blooms & Handmade Things is a craft-filled gathering where blooming fields, barnyard rhythms, and old-world skills come together to celebrate making things by hand.

Throughout the weekend, guests will be immersed in hands-on experiences rooted in tradition and wonder. You’ll learn the art of making butter from scratch, stitch together a hand-sewn apron meant for real work and real beauty, and explore the full, magical process of creating goat milk soap—from pasture to bar. Weather, willing goats, and cooperative spirits permitting, we may even hand milk goats together, offering a rare glimpse into every step of the soap-making journey.

Between crafting sessions, we’ll gather to enjoy homemade, handcrafted food, prepared with care and shared in good company. On Saturday evening, we’ll close out the day with a fun group game, inviting laughter, connection, and a bit of playful mischief.

This homestead weekend is designed for slowing down, learning something old, and reconnecting with the quiet joy of handmade life.

Important details:
This is a 21+ event. Tickets are non-refundable. All crafts and activities are subject to change due to unavoidable crafting chaos, including (but not limited to) goats deciding they have other plans, butter refusing to butter, thread tangling itself into knots of destiny, soap developing a mind of its own, hair tinsel tangling where it shouldn’t, or tools temporarily disappearing into the barnyard void.

All materials can be provided, or students may bring their own basic embroidery supplies if preferred (details can be shared upon registration).

By the end of Hand Embroidery 101, students will leave with a finished piece, foundational knowledge of embroidery techniques, and the confidence to continue stitching on their own.

If you’d like, I can also:

  • Make it shorter and more promotional

  • Adjust it for a kids’ or teen class

  • Rewrite it in a more formal syllabus style

  • Tailor it to a specific venue (art center, library, craft store, etc.)
